The answer is Yes and No;Mainly NO. There is a bit of the iercnase in tourist during the T20 world cup. Travelers, especially the ones who travel in South and South East Asian countries make it a point to drop by in Sri Lanka and cheer for their country. However it wasn’t the boom people expected. The main reason is difficulty of purchasing tickets online. It was very inconvenient for the fans out of Sri Lanka to buy tickets online. Also there wasn’t enough marketing campaigns outside Sri Lanka to promote tourism integrated with T20 world cup. Basically if you sum up, due to poor planning from the beginning I believe T20 world cup didn’t attract much tourists to the country to call it a success in tourism.
